Offline Process to Link Aadhaar to Bank account :

You can also link Aadhaar card with the bank account by simply visiting the branch office, visiting your nearest ATM or via SMS. Here are the below-mentioned steps to complete the entire linking process.

Linking bank account with Aadhaar through phone

This is the most convenient way to complete the linking procedure. Here, every bank has their own number to seed your bank account with Aadhaar number. Below are the steps to be followed :

  • Firstly, give a missed call to the number provided by your bank.
  • You will get a call-back from the bank where you can select options from the IVR.
  • Enter your 12 digit Aadhaar number and confirm it.
  • You will get a text message when your Aadhaar is linked to your account.

Linking Aadhaar to bank account by visiting the bank branch

Follow the steps to complete the linking process by visiting the nearest bank branch:

  • Get the seeding form from the nearest bank branch or download it from the bank’s official website.
  • Fill the requested information which includes name, address of the bank branch, bank account number, a name of the customer and the address as printed on the Aadhaar card along with Aadhaar / UID number.
  • The official will take a look at your original Aadhaar card and keep the application for further verification.

There are few banks that provide the facility of seeding bank account with Aadhaar through SMS. Every bank has their own format. Here are few steps to complete the linking process set by State Bank of India:

  • Firstly, type your Aadhaar number from your registered mobile number and send it to 567676.
  • You will receive a confirmation message from your bank.
  • Your bank will verify the details with UIDAI.
  • You will receive a confirmation message, once the process is successful.

Linking Aadhaar to a bank account can either be done through net banking or via bank’s mobile application. It is advisable to register with the bank to avail any of the above facility.

Linking Aadhaar with bank account  through net banking

Here is how you can link your bank account with Aadhaar easily through internet banking :

  • Log in to your bank’s official website (for eg: www.onlinesbi.com).
  • Enter your user id and password.
  • Go to “My Account” section and click on the “Update Aadhaar with Bank accounts(CIF)”.
  • Enter profile password for Aadhaar Registration and type your Aadhaar number twice and click on “Submit” button.
  • A successful message will be displayed on the screen.

Linking Bank Account with Aadhaar through mobile app

The linking can also be done through a mobile application and it is considered to be the easiest way complete the seeding procedure. Below are the mentioned steps to be followed to complete the entire through your bank’s app:

  • Firstly, login to your bank’s mobile application.
  • Click on the “View/Update Aadhaar card details” option under “My Accounts”.
  • Enter your Aadhaar number twice and click on the Submit button.
  • A message will be displayed on the screen regarding the successful linking of your bank account with Aadhaar card number.
